Canteen Manager [South Africa]


 

Job Purpose: To run the operations of the unit allocated

Job Duties:

 Completing weekly GSE (General store evaluations) for each allocated unit:

  • Each GSE is to be followed up with on the previous GSE completed to ensure a progress is made in the unit.
  • All GSE’s must be emailed to the Director and PODIO by end of business on the day of conducting the GSE and signed off by the relevant Managers.

 All HASOP, COVID and Cleaning to be managed on a daily basis:

  • Daily portions control and all operational checklists to be managed and completed for each unit per day and loaded to PODIO with each special meal.
  • Daily Variances completed daily
  • Daily Costings managed and completed daily  Operational Meetings:
  • Full accountability of your units’ activities for the past and future operational tasks at hand
  • To schedule and execute department meetings with each of the allocated stores (Principal, Boarding, College, JP, ELS, Sports, Catering department meetings).
  • All meetings planned and completed must be mailed with minutes to Head Office.
  •  Training: • To conduct weekly training with each department within the operational structure (FOH, BOH, Management including portion control preparation of all meals, cleaning and costings)
  • Product Knowledge
  • Customer Service

 Planning and execution of all operations:

  • Menus.
  • Orders – all orders to be checked in by management, weighed and balancing to invoice received
  • Serving Stations
  • Function setup execution
  • Cost of Sales  Administration: .
  • Operational Equipment – with full accountability
  • Staff Uniform and Appearance
  • To ensure assigned store open and closes as per campus requirements
  • Monitor sales and present any potential promotions to increase sales
  • Count Safes
  • Check Ledgers
  • Check EFT and CC sheets for allocations
  • All invoices named and saved correctly on Drive with dates and invoice allocations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R12,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Midrand, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High School (matric) (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Hospitality Management: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Code 8 drivers license (Required)
